House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Thursday welcomed at his Mseileh residence a large popular delegation of the southern town of Saksakieh, with who he discussed electoral affairs.
Speaker Berri stressed before the delegation that cementing the unity of ranks at the level of the entire South represents a protection for Lebanon and a guarantee of all its headlines of strength, dignity and pride.
Berri also met with the Bishop of the Melkite Catholic Diocese of Sidon and Deir al-Qamar Elie Bechara Haddad, accompanied by a number of priests and heads of municipal and mayoral councils of the villages and towns of East Sidon.
Berri hailed the region of East Sidon as a model for coexistence and moderation in the face of isolation and extremism, highlighting Lebanon's role Lebanon 'the nation and the message.'
Berri also tackled electoral affairs with visiting southern popular delegations.
