BAGHDAD, South Korean President Mon Jia En and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on Friday pledged their commitment to denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
" A statement issued by the two leaders stressed the end of the Korean War this year" and "the change of the ceasefire agreement to a peace agreement.
"There will be no further war on the Korean peninsula," the statement said, "we agreed to stop all hostilities completely by land, sea and air."
It explained that the two Koreas will work to turn the demilitarized zone into a "peace zone."
The two Koreas stressed the need to work on arms control gradually, while building confidence and reducing military tensions.
