Hariri visits Dar al-Fatwa and Beiruti neighborhoods

Prime Minister Saad Hariri visited this afternoon Dar al-Fatwa, where he was received by Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, who was meeting with a group of scholars, sheikhs and imams.

Mufti Derian welcomed Prime Minister Hariri and said: "By coming today, you reminded me of the great martyr of Lebanon, PM Rafic Hariri, who used to come to Dar al-Fatwa in the essential periods of the history of Lebanon.

The good relationship between Dar al-Fatwa and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers must remain strong and solid, because in the end the Mufti of the Republic and the Prime Minister protect the sect and the nation.

Dar al-Fatwa, as you know, is a religious and national reference. We are the ones who preserve coexistence, security and stability. You and us have carried the banner of moderation. Yes we are moderates, we are not terrorists.

Your visit today to Dar al-Fatwa is something we are proud of, and your meeting with the virtuous and tolerant scholars is a blessed meeting. I tell you, do not be afraid and do not worry, I am with you and the scholars of Lebanon with you. This Dar received all candidates who wanted to come. We hope that there will be a large participation in the elections.

Prime Minister Hariri said: "Thank you for this meeting. This visit is one of the most important visits, because you in Dar al-Fatwa are the shield of all Muslims in this country, and whenever this Dar is fine, the Muslims in Lebanon are fine. Our decision is free and for the sake of moderation and the country. This is what we fight for it, and we will always be with Dar al-Fatwa. "

He added: "All I care about is the country, and when extremism was high in Lebanon, I was doing the opposite because I believe that Islam is the religion of moderation, peace and love. Moderation is not weakness, but strength, and moderation is what brings security, stability, economy, employment, happiness and love among people.

These are your instructions that we abide by and hopefully Dar al-Fatwa will always be the shield that protects Muslims and all Lebanese.

The area around us is burning, but that does not mean that we are going to burn. We have to put out the fire. We work together, me from my political position and you are from your religious position. We decided to work together to remove any tension in the country and solve any problems.

After his departure from Dar al-Fatwa, Hariri made several stops in Aisha Bakar, Zarub al-Alia, Tallet el Khayyat, and Malla, where large crowds of citizens were waiting for him and greeted him.

Earlier, Hariri attended a lunch held by Saad El Din Hamidi Sakr in the Arab University street, in the presence of a crowd of Beiruti figures.

After a welcoming speech from Sakr, Hariri said: The elections that will take place next Sunday are crucial for the country, Beirut, its decision and identity, because they will determine the shape of parliament for the next four years. If we do not have a large bloc and especially from Beirut in the midst of the upcoming changes and challenges, we will not have an impact and Beirut's decision will go to other known parties. You know that the Future movement was targeted through the assassinations of Rafic Hariri, Walid Eido, Wissam Hassan and Mohamed Chatah and others, who martyred for a cause and a path. We have a comprehensive and clear program and project in economy, security, openness and dialogue. We fight this battle with you to complete this project, therefore everyone has to vote to prevent anyone from blocking this project.
