Deputy-elect Qassem Hashem ruled out, in an interview with Voice of Lebanon 93.3 radio station, "the possibility of expanding the Israeli-Iranian confrontation in Syria in the near term. Even if this confrontation develops in Syria, it will remain controlled because there are international borders set to maintain stability in the region."
"Israel's intentions are not innocent. Israel has permanent ambitions in Lebanon, despite the change in its view of Lebanon with the balance of power imposed by Hezbollah," he added.
Hashem called for "controlling the internal situation, forming the government and making national unity a key weapon to confronting Israel.
