House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Thursday received a great number of congratulatory phone calls and cables on his re-election as head of the legislative council, notably from Jordanian Speaker Atef al-Tarawneh and Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghalem.
Congratulatory cables also were also tipped from Moroccan House Spekaer Al-Habib al-Malaki, Palestinian National Council Head Selim al-Zaanoun, and Yemeni House Speaker Yehya Ali Al-Rai.
In the same framework, Speaker Berri received the European Union Ambassador to Lebanon, Christina Lassen, who congratulated him on his re-election as President of the Legislative Council.
The visit was also a chance to dwell on most recent developments.
Later, Berri welcomed at his Ein Tineh residence the Saudi Minister Plenipotentiary Charges d'Affaires Waleed Bukhari, who congratulated him in his name and on behalf of the Saudi Kingdom on his re-election as head of Parliament.
Head of the "Tawheed" Movement, former Minister, Weam Wahhab also paid a congratulatory visit to Speaker Berri.
On emerging, Wahhab deemed Berri as the safe And will remain a safety valve in Lebanon in light of all the impending challenges.
The former Minister also underlined the need for accelerating the new government formation.
