Caretaker National Defense Minister, Yacoub Riad Al-Sarraf, on Thursday received at his ministerial office with Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry of Defence, Thomas Silberhorn.
Discussions reportedly covered means of bolstering the existing cooperation between the two countries, notably at the defense and military levels, as well between the army and UNIFIL.
The meeting took place in the presence of German MPs Dennis Rohde and Oswin Veith, as well as German Ambassador to Lebanon, Martin Huth.
Minister Sarraf pointed out that Lebanon seeks to develop its naval forces, shedding light on Israel's continual violations against Lebanon's sovereignty.
"The Israeli side is the aggressor against Lebanon," Sarraf corroborated, calling for pressuring Israel to halt such violations.
He also explained to the German side the impact of the Syrian refugees' crisis on the Lebanese situation, reiterating the need to work on their return to safe areas in Syria.
