Socotra, The first Saudi relief aircrafts laden with urgent relief aid provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) arrived in Socotra to help the people.
In a statement, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor-Royal Court and General Supervisor of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief), said that, upon directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the follow-up of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the center seeks to provide shelter, medial and food assistance to the people in Socotra due to the Cyclone Mekunu.
He added that the KSRelief initiated this air bridge following the warnings issued by the United Nations World Meteorological Organization with regard to Cyclone Mekunu.
Dr. Al Rabeeah thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince for this humane gesture.
