The White House confirms its readiness to hold the Trump and Kim summit by its date

BAGHDAD, The White House is ready to hold a summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on June 12, the proposed original date for the troubled meeting, White House Spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said.

"The President believes that the ongoing discussions are going well, and that the ongoing meetings this week certainly indicate progress," Sanders told reporters traveling with Trump on an Air Force plane to Nashville, Tennessee.

"We will be ready if the meeting is held on June 12, and we will certainly be prepared if it takes place at a later date for any reason, and we will be prepared for that as well," she said.
