Kataeb Party leader, MP Sami Gemayel, received at the Kataeb Central House in Saifi the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Zasypkin, with talks touching on the situation in Lebanon and the region.
Gemayel put forward the issue of displaced Syrians and the need to work on their return in cooperation with the Russians, "who play a very important role and are the only ones who can talk to all parties in Syria and Lebanon."
"There must be a practical humanitarian approach in which the political issue is separated from the humanitarian issue in terms of displaced, so as to separate their return from the process of awaiting a final political settlement in Syria," Gemayel urged.
The meeting touched on the formation of the government and the need to save Lebanon from the deteriorating economic situation with a government capable of managing the affairs of the people with a new approach and a clear vision.
The Kataeb leader stressed that "maintaining stability in Lebanon starts by adopting the expected reforms. Things cannot remain as they are, for they are leading Lebanon to the abyss."
"Using stability as a pretext for non-change is in itself a blow to the State and its stability," he assured.
