Indonesian Ambassador to Lebanon, Ahmad Khazen Khamidi, and his wife held a reception ceremony at the "Phoenicia Hotel" in Beirut on the occasion of the 73rd Indonesian National Day.
The ceremony was attended by President of the Republic Michel Aoun represented by Caretaker Minister of Defense Yacoub Sarraf, House Speaker Nabih Berri represented by MP Mohammed Al-Hajjar, Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri represented by MP Nazih Najm and a score of high-ranking dignitaries and officials, as well as security, media and diplomatic figures.
Taking the word, the Ambassador stressed that "the principles adopted by Indonesia with the world are the same adopted in Lebanon, which are enshrined in the Indonesian Constitution and based on active participation to build a world of freedom, peace and social justice."
He underscored that his country "has always adhered to the policy of peace, in particular by sending the Indonesian peacekeeping troops under the banner of the United Nations to ten different States."
"Peace and independence are the basic principles that push Indonesia to provide all support for Palestine until it is liberated from the Israeli occupation," he added.
Finally, Ambassador Khamidi shed light on his country's priorities at the economic, infrastructure, trade and investment levels.
