Baghdad, The Special Envoy of the World Bank in Iraq, Yara Salem, confirmed that the economic empowerment program for women in Iraq funded by the Canadian government will reduce poverty in Iraq.
"The program is composed of two elements: legislative and institutional aspects, and economic and political empowerment," Yara Salem told NINA.
"The program will contribute to social and economic interventions by the World Bank in Iraq.
The purpose of the project is to launch a formal program for women and social protection towards achieving economic empowerment and introducing the program to the stakeholders in Iraq, the donor community and partners," she said.
