Head of the National Dialogue Party, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, on Friday welcomed at his office in Downtown Beirut the Chinese Embassy's Economic and Commercial Counselor, Ms. Li Jing.
Makhzoumi seized the opportunity to stress the vitality of relations between Lebanon and China; however, he highlighted the need to strengthen them, especially at the commercial and technological levels.
"China has been Lebanon's first economic partner for three years in a row," the lawmaker said.
He also called on Jing to convey his appreciation to the Ambassador and staff of the Embassy "for their humanitarian assistance to refugees and the Lebanese society alike."
"These initiatives contribute to alleviating the burdens that have been placed on the shoulders of Lebanon and its people since the beginning of the Syrian crisis," Makhzoumi said.
