OIC Secretary General participates in first Cairo Week on Water

Cairo, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al Othaimeen is participating in the opening of the first Cairo Week on Water and the accompanying exhibition, being organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt during the period 14-18 October, 2018.

In his speech, Dr. Al Othaimmeen thanked President el-Sisi and the Arab Republic of Egypt for this initiative,which contributes to the joint cooperation of the OIC Member States, noting that this occasion raises awareness and contributes to the achievement of the objectives of Organization for the Islamic Cooperation on Water.

The aim of the Cairo Week on Water is to raise awareness of water issues, promote innovations to address urgent water challenges in unconventional ways using modern technology, and support and implement integrated water management, as the first session of the week entitled "Water Conservation for Sustainable Development"
