Samad: Independent Sunni MPs won’t give up right to representation

MP Jihad Samad on Thursday maintained that the independent Sunni lawmakers would not renege on their demand to be represented in the new government.

"The six Sunni MPs will not give up their right to representation (...) they might even step up their position and demand more than just one minister," Samad told Voice of Lebanon radio station.

"House Speaker, Nabih Berri, called us not to escalate our position but not to make concessions," he clarified, calling to take Berri's stance into account.
