The US Envoy to the International Coalition against Daesh Briton McGurk resigned

BAGHDAD, The United States envoy to the International Coalition to fight Daesh Briton McGurk has resigned from office at the end of this month, a senior American administration official said.

McGurk earlier announced his intention to leave office in February 2019, but the Associated Press reported that he had decided to speed up his plans to leave office in protest at President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw US troops from Syria.

The Agency said that the US Envoy presented his letter of resignation to Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo on Friday.
