BAGHDAD, The United States is deploying strategic weapons near the Russian border, Russian navy commander Admiral Vladimir Korolyov said.
"The United States and NATO have recently increased operational training and combat activities near the Russian border. They have deployed US naval missile defense systems, high-precision non-nuclear strategic weapons and military infrastructure in the waters surrounding Russian territory," Kurolyov was quoted as saying by the Sputnik news agency.
He pointed out that "the presence of about one hundred naval warships of different categories," stressing: "The size of the naval forces is able to eliminate the threats coming from the sea."
"The bases of the strategic naval forces will be missile submarines of a new generation, and the bulk of the ships in the region will be frigates and large landing ships," Korolyov said.
