Baghdad, Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim and his Tunisian counterpart Khamis al-Jahnawi discussed the bilateral relations and regional developments.
"Al- Hakim met with his Tunisian counterpart Khamis al-Jahnawi on the sidelines of his participation in the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit in Beirut," a Foreign Ministry statement said.
The two sides also discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations and regional developments in light of their keenness to continue channels of communication and consultation on the issues of the region in a manner that achieves the hopes of the Arab peoples to achieve greater security and stability.
They also discussed prospects for joint cooperation in various political, economic, cultural and security fields to serve the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.
Al-Hakim said that Iraq has defeated Daesh with the efforts and sacrifices of its sons and continues its war on terrorism to eliminate its extremist ideology."
During the meeting, the two sides stressed that "the two countries have a lot to do and we must do more to push forward bilateral cooperation between Baghdad and Tunisia."
