Baghdad, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its UAE counterpart held a meeting on the memorandum of understanding for political consultations between the two countries at the ministry headquarters in Baghdad.
"The two sides discussed during the meeting the opportunities of cooperation between the two countries in the political, security and economic fields, supporting the efforts to reconstruct the liberated areas, and stressing the statements made at the donor conference in Kuwait," a foreign ministry statement said.
The Iraqi consultative team was headed by Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nizar al-Khairallah, with the participation of the head of the Arab Department Ambassador Ismail Shafiq Mohsen. The delegation of the UAE Foreign Ministry headed by the Assistant Foreign Minister and International Cooperation for Political Affairs Khalifa Shaheen Al-Marar in the presence of UAE Ambassador Hassan Ahmad Al-Shehhi.
