The head of the Supreme Islamic Shiite Council, Sheikh Abdul Amir Qabalan, on Thursday welcomed at the Council's headquarters the British Ambassador to Lebanon, Chris Rampling.
Talks reportedly touched on most recent developments in Lebanon and the broad region.
The meeting took place in the presence of Council Vice President, SheikhAli Al Khatib, and the Council's Secretary General Nazih Jammoul.
Sheikh Qabalan hoped that the coming days will see further improvement at the various levels in Lebanon notably with the formation of the new government, as per a statement by the Council.
Qabalan also hoped that the government will gain the confidence of the Lebanese people through fulfilling their longstanding aspirations and achieving the advancement of the national economy, as per statement.
