BAGHDAD Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamed Al-Halbousi confirmed the presence of great interest from Kuwait to support Iraq by ending the file of the displaced people.
Al-Halbousi said in a joint press conference with his Kuwaiti counterpart Marzouq Al-Ghanim that the relations between the two countries have been discussed and we hope that there will be real partnerships that will positively be reflected on the two peoples.
"We discussed the activation of the outcomes of the Kuwait conference, pointing out the existence of outstanding issues that must be resolved in a manner that does not affect the sovereignty of the two countries."
He continued: We discussed the activation of joint trade, both in terms of free zones to be a corridor between the Gulf States and Europe and the activation of railways.
He added: We discussed the investment procedures facilities for companies and investors.
For his part, Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim said: "We discussed the need to complete the delimitation of the maritime border, the digging of Khor Abdullah and the conclusion of the free trade agreement."
Al-Ghanim stressed the need to have an economic partnership to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
Al-Ghanim said: "I thank the Speaker of the House of Representatives because he contributed to moving stagnant water between the two countries and all that he did.
He continued: We wish Iraq security, stability and harmony among all components and that is implemented between all that we agreed upon.
Al-Ghanim pointed out that this visit came to support brotherly Iraq.
