Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rahi, received at the Bkirki patriarchate the new Ambassador of the Knights of Malta to Lebanon, Bertrand Besancenot, who came on a protocol visit.
Ambassador Besancenot said he harbors a special affinity towards Lebanon, notably that he has spent his childhood in this country.
The Ambassador said he briefed the Patriarch on the Organization's activities in Lebanon in the service of global values concerned with human dignity.
The relationship between the Maronite Church and the Organization as well as means of reinforcing work mechanism between the two sides featured high on their talks.
On the other hand, Patriarch Rahi met with Minister of Labor, Kamil Abu Sleiman, who said on emerging that they tackled the affairs of the country and all its concerns.
"I am aware of the concerns that preoccupy the Patriarch, especially in relation to ceasing waste, reducing expenses and controlling the State finances," Minister Abu Sleiman said in the wake of the meeting.
