Chidiac, Afiouni tackle cooperation prospects

Minister of State for Administrative Development Affairs, May Chidiac, on Tuesday received in her office at the ministry the Minister of State for Information Technology, Adel Afiouni.

Discussions reportedly touched on joint cooperation between the two ministries in terms of endeavors by the Administrative Development Ministry to transform the public sector into the digital world through investing in information and communication technology, simplifying transactions and achieving partnership at the global level in the field of open government, as per a statement by Minister Chidiac's Media Bureau.

The statement also highlighted the key role played by the Ministry of State for Information Technology in stimulating the private sector and facilitating investors' affairs to achieve economic growth in Lebanon.

Discussions also covered means of cooperation and coordination in the future between the two ministries to seek appropriate foundations for work between the public and private sectors.

Both sides also stressed the importance of using the new technologies and action plan that would emerge from the digital transformation strategy developed by the Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Development.
