Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rahi, criticized Sunday the practices of Lebanese politicians, considering that "they prevent Lebanon from following the path of development, growth and prosperity because of their personal calculations and narrow interests."
"Politicians only care about their personal calculations and narrow interests, without any concern for the country's economic, financial and social crises," Rahi said during Sunday's Mass service in Bkirki.
Rahi also criticized the Lebanese officials for not endorsing the 2019 State budget, as well as the electricity plan.
Finally, Rahi said that "the delay in addressing reforms will undermine Lebanon's reputation, credibility and transparency towards the international community."
