Riyadh, Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq Adil Abdul-Mahdi received here today Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani.
At the outset of the meeting, the Iraqi Prime Minister welcomed the GCC Secretary General, lauding the GCC active role to enhance security and stability in the region and promote the Arab joint action in all fields. He also praised the constructive role played by the GCC Secretariat General in this regard.
For his part, Dr. Al-Zayani hailed the success achieved by Iraq in defeating the terrorist organization "ISIS", wishing Iraq security and stability.
The GCC Secretary General also praised the efforts exerted by the GCC and the Republic of Iraq to promote and develop the relations of joint cooperation according to the approved mechanisms, pointing out the continuous coordination between the two sides.
During the meeting, they discussed fraternal relations and joint cooperation between the GCC and the Republic of Iraq and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields in order to serve the common interests between the two sides.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials.
