An International financial grant to rehabilitate the Baghdad-Kirkuk road north of Diyala

Baquba The World Bank has agreed to provide a financial grant to finance the rehabilitation of Baghdad-Kirkuk strategic road north of Diyala.

A government source in Diyala told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) today that the World Bank has formally agreed to provide a financial grant to rehabilitate a vital road project linking Baghdad to the provinces of Kurdistan, indicating that a local company will begin implementation of the first phase of the project in the coming weeks.

He added that the project to rehabilitate the Baghdad-Kirkuk road starts from Anjana area and passes through al-Adhim district to Mustafa al-Jawad square in the district of Khalis north of Baquba, noting that the project is important in preserving the lives of civilians after the road witnessed traffic accidents that resulted in the death and injury of dozens of citizens.
