Minister of Social Affairs, Richard Kouyoumjian, on Monday maintained that the reduction of servicemen's wages was not included in the 2019 state budget draft submitted by the Ministry of Finance.
"There will be no tampering with the servicemen's salaries," the Minister told Voice of Lebanon radio station.
"Only the income tax on their old age pensions has been increased, similarly to all the retired in Lebanon and the military worldwide," he explained.
Kouyoumjian went on to say that preemptive protests were inadmissible.
