House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Wednesday underlined the substantial importance of the state budget to regularize the work of state institutions.
"We cannot control the regularity of the work of institutions without a budget," Visiting Deputies quoted Speaker Berri as saying during the "Wednesday" Gathering.
Visiting Lawmakers said Berri deemed the budget as the main artery of any state in the world, relaying his intention to call for plenary sessions of the Legislative Council to discuss the general budget, upcoming Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday July 16, 17 and 18, morning and evening.
On the current efforts to contain the ramifications of the recent Qabrshmoun incidents, Berri's visiting MPs relayed his optimism about consolidating the pillars of stability, noting that he was still working on the "trio" link, notably judiciary, politics and security.
On the other hand, Berri welcomed this afternoon British Ambassador to Lebanon, Chris Rampling, with whom he broached the general situation.
