Saudi-India joint statement issued 2 Riyadh

They expressed their satisfaction with the establishment of the Strategic Partnership Council between the two countries and the signing of the founding document of the Council by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense from the Saudi side, and the Prime Minister from the Indian side, and their satisfaction with the exchanges during the visit of agreements, memoranda of understanding and cooperation between government and private entities in both countries.

They also expressed their satisfaction with the progress of bilateral relations in the political, economic, security, defense fields and labor forces, and communication between the two peoples in recent years, which has strengthened the bilateral relations, as well as satisfaction with the high level of consultation and coordination between them in regional and international issues of common concern as part of their responsibility to promote world peace, stability and security.

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, met with Prime Minister of India and held a meeting of bilateral talks, during which they praised the course of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, and praised the progress made in the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields since the visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of India to Riyadh in Jumada II 1437 AH. / April 2016, and the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to India in the month of Jumada II 1440 AH. / February 2019 G. which contributed to the deepening of the strategic partnership and strengthened bilateral cooperation in many areas for the benefit of the two countries and peoples.

The two sides discussed regional and international issues of common concern, underscored their firm rejection of all forms of interference in the internal affairs of states and the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities towards preventing any attacks on the sovereignty of states. They also stressed Security Council Resolution 2254 on the situation in Syria. They also stressed the importance of preserving Yemen's unity, achieving its security and stability, and the importance of a political solution to the Yemeni crisis on the basis of the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the Yemeni national dialogue, and Security Council Resolution 2216. They also expressed hope for a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in Palestine according to the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant UN resolutions guaranteeing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and establishing an independent state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
