NEW FM ASSUMES MINISTRY DUTIES, SAYS WILL WORK ON REFUGEES’ REPATRIATION

Newly-appointed Foreign Minister, Charbel Wehbe, has assumed his duties which he was duly handed over by his predecessor Nassif Hitti, at a ceremony held Tuesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants.

 

In his word, Wehbe vowed that his ministry would work on the government’s plan on the return of the displaced Syrians.

 

He also highlighted his commitment to rejecting the resettlement of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, as well as to securing their repatriation.

 

Moreover, Wehbe stressed on Lebanon’s commitment to the implementation of UN resolution 1701, condemning the Israeli violations of the Lebanese sovereignty.
