MP Jean Obeid called Sunday on “the state or what remains of its authority and its officials and employees to put an end to this encroachment on land and sea, especially in the North region, and to stop this escalating invasion from the shores and regions of Lebanon towards the obliteration or extermination of those fleeing from it, Lebanese, Syrians and Palestinians.”
Obeid deemed that if the state is incapable of granting citizens a decent life, it should at least stop giving them away to death and humiliation.
The MP regretted the prevailing situation, stressing that never before have such events been witnessed in the country. He criticized the lack of responsibility or accountability on part of state officials, urging them to “take the initiative, decide, and mobilize efforts before it is too late.”
