Iraq Dismantles Mine on Tanker in Persian Gulf

BAGHDAD - Iraq's military on Saturday said explosives experts with its naval forces had successfully dismantled a mine that was discovered stuck to an oil tanker in the Persian Gulf. The statement said Iraqi authorities had opened an investigation into the incident. No group has claimed responsibility for placing the mine. The announcement came a day after Iraq confirmed reports by private security firms that a mine had been discovered attached to the side of a tanker rented from Iraq's Oil Marketing Company, known as SOMO, as it was refueling another vessel. It said that Iraqi teams were working to dismantle the mine. Iraq has not provided further details, but the two private security firms said the discovery was likely a limpet mine on the MT Pola, a Liberian-flagged tanker. ...

101 New Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Detected, 182 Recoveries Reported, in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, The Ministry of Health announced in a statement here today that 101 new confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, bringing the total number to 362,979, including 2,477 active cases undergoing treatment. Of these, there are 354 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable. It added that 9 new deaths have been reported; putting the tally of fatalities, at 6,239. Meanwhile, as many as 182 cases have recovered, raising recoveries' toll to 354,263. Dakar Saudi Arabia 2021 Rally to fully Kick off for 13-Day on Sunday

Riyadh, The Dakar Saudi Arabia Rally 2021, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the second year, in a row, will start tomorrow Sunday, for 13 days from January 03 to 15. The Rally is organized by the Ministry of Sport, in coordination with the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, to falls in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 and the Quality of Life Program. Riyadh, The International Organization for Migration (IOM), in cooperation with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), has worked to support displaced children in Yemen to return to schools. During the last period, 8,500 male and female students have been supported to return to their schools, in addition to 750 members of the educational and administrative staff, in various Yemeni governorates.
