PM from Al-Diwaniyah: The government’s duty to care for children in Iraq and guarantee their rights to a dignified life and a promising future

Baghdad Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani affirmed that the government’s duty is to care for children in Iraq and to guarantee their rights to a dignified life and a promising future.

A statement by his media office said that Al-Sudani received, today, Saturday, a group of talented children from Al-Diwaniyah Governorate, and honored them, during his inspection visit to the governorate.

Al-Sudani welcomed the talented children, stressing that the government’s duty is to care for children in Iraq and guarantee their rights to a dignified life and a promising future in the areas in which they excel.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister received a number of families’ requests related to the service and living situation, and the difficult procedures to obtain their rights and secure their needs, directing the concerned departments to follow up on them and secure their solution.

MP of the KDP: The constitution determines the nature of the relationship between the region and the federal government

Baghdad The MP of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Jayyi Timur, confirmed that the constitution is the one that determines the nature of the relationship between the Kurdistan region and the federal government.

Timur said in a televised statement: “The Kurdistan region supports a strong government led by Al-Sudani, pointing out that imposing the prestige of the state is the most important step for Al-Sudani government.”

KRG denies smuggling weapons from the Kurdistan to Iran

Baghdad The Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq denied today, Saturday, the existence of arms smuggling operations from its territory towards Iran.

KRG spokesman Jutiar Adel said in a statement: “Iranian news websites have published a story by John Bolton, who does not currently hold any governmental or official position for the United States of America, that weapons are smuggling through the Kurdistan region to the Republic of Iran.”

He added: The Kurdistan Regional Government categorically denies this news, which has been repeated for a long time.

He explained: The regional government has not, and will not, allow in any way to tamper with the security of any neighboring country through the territory of the Kurdistan region, pointing out that such news is untrue and just lies.

The Associated Press quoted the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Ismail Qaani, as telling Iraqi officials that Iran would launch a ground attack on the Kurdistan region, in the event that measures were not tightened on the borders and against the Iranian Kurdistan parties.

Iran accuses the Iraqi Kurdistan parties of encouraging demonstrations against the government, and of sending weapons to Iranian Kurdistan, but the Iranian government has not yet provided any evidence to prove the validity of these allegations.

MP of Al-Fateh: The oil and gas law will be addressed in Parliament within a maximum period of three months

Baghdad The MP of Al-Fateh Alliance, Mortada Al-Saadi, announced that the oil and gas law will be addressed in Parliament within a maximum period of three months.

Al-Saadi said in a televised statement: “There must be a legal ceiling for dialogue with the Kurdistan region about the final version of the oil and gas law.”

He added: “The fight against corruption in unconventional ways is one of the priorities of the government’s work, explaining that the anti-corruption team works under the umbrella of the Integrity Commission.”
