Al-Jouf Region Governor Inaugurates Investment Opportunities Forum in MODON Oasis in Al-Jouf

Skaka, Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Jouf region, inaugurated today the activities of the Investment Opportunities Forum in the MODON Oasis in Al-Jouf.

The Forum is organized by the Governorate of the region in cooperation with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) being held in the city of Skaka, in the presence of MODON CEO Eng. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Salem and the participation of 400 businessmen and women interested in investment.

Also, Prince Faisal bin Nawaf opened the exhibition accompanying the Forum’s activities, which included a presentation of industrial investment opportunities in the region for a number of relevant authorities from the public and private sectors.

During the opening ceremony, he stressed that Al-Jouf region is a fertile land for investment due to its multiple relative opportunities, extending his thanks to the Kingdom’s leadership for their interest and attention being accorded to the region.

Al-Jouf governor said, “we have worked during the last period enjoying the follow-up of HRH the Crown Prince to prepare a draft strategy for Al-Jouf region, culminated in the announcement of the establishment of the Strategic Office for the Development of the Region”. He explained that holding Investment Opportunities Forum coincided with the announcement of the Strategic Office aimed at supporting efforts to stimulate investment, market the competitive advantages that the region enjoys, strengthen the relationship with the private sector, highlight the region’s characteristics and components in the agricultural and industrial fields, overcome obstacles for investors and create an attractive investment environment that enables and motivates the private sector to invest in the region.

Prince Faisal bin Nawaf called on businessmen and women to visit the region, meet with officials and relevant authorities and take advantage of the current and future investment opportunities that will be available with the start of operation of the strategic office.

After that, the Forum’s first session reviewed seven themes, including the vision of the secretariat as a tributary to MODON Oasis in Al-Jouf, financing programs by the Social Development Bank, the participatory and cooperative economy, the localization of medical production lines in the region and the initiatives of the National Center for Palms and Dates, in addition to embracing entrepreneurship and successful stories and the most prominent comparative advantages of the region.

The second session dealt with the most important industries and opportunities targeted in MODON Oasis, and the analysis of data for small and medium enterprises in the region.
