Al-Sudani and the British Ambassador discuss the overall bilateral relations and the prospects for strengthening them to serve the partnership and common interests

Baghdad Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani received today, Sunday, British Ambassador to Iraq Mark Bryson Richardson, and they discussed the overall bilateral relations between the two countries, and prospects for strengthening them to serve partnership and common interests.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister referred, according to a statement by his office, to his government’s directions and work program in light of the ministerial curriculum, which gives economic and service aspects and everything that affects the lives of citizens the utmost importance and priority in implementation.

The meeting witnessed the discussion of a number of files of interest to the two countries, foremost of which are the challenges posed by climate changes and the best ways to address their economic and environmental impacts.

For his part, the British Ambassador affirmed his government’s readiness to support the plans of the Iraqi Ministry of Environment in this regard.

The meeting also discussed the file of the displaced people, and ways for Britain and international organizations to cooperate with Iraq to alleviate the crisis and find solutions that contribute to solving their problems in a sustainable and final manner.
