An earthquake magnitude 5.6 hits southern Iran

Baghdad An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale of 9 degrees struck southern Iran, this evening, Wednesday, and was felt by residents in the Emirates.

The European-Mediterranean Center for Seismology said: The earthquake occurred at a depth of ten kilometers, approximately 88 kilometers northwest of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in the Emirates.

For its part, Iranian television stated that the authorities hastily sent rescue teams to the earthquake-shattered area, indicating that there were no deaths or injuries.
