BTEA celebrates Saudi National Day at Manama Souq

Manama, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) has launched several events at the Manama Souq on the occasion of Saudi National Day, celebrated annually on September 23.

The diverse calendar of events, being held in partnership with Bahrain’s private tourism sector, under the theme “Delighted to see you,” highlights venues throughout the kingdom.

Special emphasis was given to the shared heritage that unites the two kingdoms, BTEA CEO Dr. Nasser Qaedi has said.

“The Authority selected Manama Souq as the venue for the Saudi National Day celebration in light of the close historical ties between the Kingdoms of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, one of whose pillars is the exchange of trade and civilizations,” Dr Qaedi said.

“We warmly welcome our Saudi brothers to the Kingdom of Bahrain and assure them of a rich entertaining programme by which they will enjoy the hospitality and entertainment offered by the Bahraini tourism sector. This will strengthen Bahrain’s position as their first preferred destination.”

A Bahraini folk band performed various Saudi and Bahraini heritage songs during the celebration which was warmly appreciated by the Bahraini market locals, tourists, and visitors.

In honour of Saudi National Day, the BTEA also launched a ten-day heritage festival in Manama Souq that will run until the following Saturday.

The “To Manama” show is a key event at the festival. It has a programme full of multiple workshops to promote traditional Bahraini crafts as well as a range of courses specifically showcasing Bahraini goods.

The wide range of activities held in the backdrop includes traditional Bahraini games, musical performances, and children’s stories.
