Riyadh, Undersecretary of Human Rights Commission for Conventions and Reports Naif Moalla Al-Oteibi has met Jordan’s Office Director of the Arab European Forum for Dialogue and Human Rights and President of Badiri Association for Development and Rehabilitation Abeer Al-Salahat at the Commission’s headquarters in Riyadh.
The meeting went over cooperation aspects between the two sides in a way that achieves joint goals concerned with human rights.
Al-Salahat praised the quantity and quality of developments witnessed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, mainly in the field of women empowerment and their efforts in fighting the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, describing it as the ideal example that should be followed worldwide. She also reviewed the efforts of Badiri Association in Jordan in the fields of women empowerment and social development, as well as its contributions to alleviating the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
For his part, Al-Oteibi said that reforms and developments realized in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over the past few years, under the Saudi Vision 2030, exceed what had been achieved over decades in various fields, including the human rights arena, noting that these reforms have not stopped even during the global spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He also praised the role of civil society organizations in enhancing and protecting human rights at national, regional and international levels, highlighting the importance for these organizations to commit to objectivity, neutrality and professionalism.
