MoH: Iraq is going through a new wave of the Coronavirus

Baghdad The Ministry of Health announced today, Wednesday, that Iraq had entered into a new wave of the Coronavirus.

The Director of Public Health, Riyadh Abdul-Amir Al-Halfi, said in a statement to the official Iraqi News Agency: “Iraq has witnessed a slight increase in the number of infections with the Coronavirus during the current week,” noting that “Iraq is going through a weak wave compared to previous waves of the virus.”

Al-Halfi explained: “The measure adopted by knowing the severity of the virus is the rate of positivity, related to the number of positive tests out of the total number,” noting that “Iraq reached in the previous waves a positive rate of 38 %, but now the recorded positivity rate is only 2%.”
