MP: We will demand the new budget with a budget for the Ministry of Education…no less than any sovereign ministry

Baghdad, A member of the Parliamentary Education Committee for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Tohma Al-Luhaibi, confirmed that the committee will demand the new budget, with a budget for the Ministry of Education, not less than any sovereign ministry.

He told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the delay in distributing books and completing them is a result of the lack of financial allocations allocated to the Ministry of Education, which led to borrowing for that.

Al-Luhaibi added that during the next few years, books will be completed and distributed to all directorates in order to equip schools with them.

He explained: The Ministry of Education needs additional financial allocations for its responsibility for 13 million students and needs a budget not less than the budget of the Ministry of Defense or any other sovereign ministry.

Al-Luhaibi stated: The committee will demand an increase in the ministry’s share of the budget in order to complete its needs early in terms of books, stationery, feeding, rehabilitating schools, and others.
