Oman Participates in Arab League Council Meeting on UNRWA Issues.

Cairo: The Sultanate of Oman participated in a meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of representatives held at the Arab League’s headquarters today. The Sultanate of Oman was represented at the meeting by Abdullah Nasser Al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League.

According to Oman News Agency, Al Rahbi stressed the Sultanate of Oman’s condemnation and categorical rejection of the Israeli decisions and all that targets the humanitarian efforts and tasks entrusted to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The ambassador highlighted the suffering of the Palestinians from the aggression, emphasizing the importance of UNRWA and its role in alleviating the suffering of Palestinian civilians. Al Rahbi pointed out that the Israeli plan is moving to the “stage of legitimizing the condemnation of UNRWA through the Israeli Knesset
,” while the Israeli actions continue to impact Palestinian children, women, and the elderly. He described this as a link in a chain of Israeli violations of international law and international humanitarian law, highlighting a disregard for the international community and the United Nations.

The meeting also discussed the joint Arab response to the illegal laws passed by the Knesset (Israeli parliament) that ban UNRWA activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
