Sarraf, Beary tackle UNIFIL duties, Israeli violations

National Defense Minister, Yaacoub Sarraf, received at his office this Thursday the Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, General Michael Beary, with talks touching on the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.The pair also tackled cooperation between Lebanon and the UNIFIL.During the meeting, Sarraf stressed that the neutrality of UNIFIL forces must be observed and that all its duties be respected.The meeting also dealt with the ongoing Israeli violations and the separation wall being built by the Israeli enemy on the southern border.Source: National News Agency

UAE ambassador hands Sheikh Aql invitation to attend conference in Abu Dhabi

Druze Sheikh Akl Sheikh, Naim Hassan, on Thursday received at Druze Dar the UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamad Saeed al-Shamsi, with talks between the pair reportedly touching on an array of national issues. Foreign Ministry announces expatriates’ voting kick off Friday

The Foreign Ministry announced in a statement on Thursday that "Lebanese expatriates' voting will be launched tomorrow Friday, April 27 at 6:00 am (Beirut time), in six Arab countries."These countries are Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman."The Cairo polls will be the first to open their doors to voters who have registered at the embassy, a historic first for Lebanon," the statement read.The second stage of expatriates voting will be held Sunday, April 29, in 33 countries, in addition to the island of Guadeloupe. Bassil: International community must cease encouraging Syrians to stay in Lebanon
