PM Stresses the Historical and Geographical Importance Of Nineveh and Directs to supervise the Ministerial Service Projects There

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, directed to supervise ministerial service projects in Nineveh.

The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement: “Al-Sudani chaired this morning, Monday, a meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Reconstruction of Nineveh Governorate, to follow up and review the progress of implementing service projects and rebuilding infrastructure in the center of the governorate, districts and sub-districts.”

Al-Sudani referred to “the historical importance and geographical location represented by Nineveh Governorate and the city of Mosul, and the suffering they experienced during the terrorist attack by ISIS gangs.”

The Prime Minister directed to continue to follow up and supervise ministerial service projects by the Executive Office for the Reconstruction of Nineveh with its new formation and work plan, as well as to follow up on local projects, the Reconstruction Fund, and projects funded by international organizations and agencies, and the need for coordination between the various projects.

Al-Sudani also directed the Executive Office for the Reconstruction of the Governorate to “devise an integrated plan for an integrated national campaign to remove the rubble and waste caused by terrorist acts and liberation operations, and to include the Old City in central Mosul, and the districts of Sinjar and Tal Afar.”

The meeting approved, according to the statement, “the initiation of the project for the reconstruction of the Nineveh International and Ashur hotels, as well as the project for the construction of the sixth and seventh bridges, and the Hawalli Street of the city of Mosul.”

The meeting examined the conditions of banking companies in the province, and the Central Bank of Iraq was directed to solve the problems and obstacles that prevent the return of these companies to fully practice their work and services to the citizens of the province.

Al-Sudani stressed during the meeting that “the conditions of the governorate now need to develop a future economic and social vision for it, which works to consolidate stability and sustain economic and living prosperity for its citizens.”
