Head of the Canada-Lebanon Friendship Group, Faisal Khoury, conveyed Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rahi's keenness on "unifying" the Lebanese Diaspora in Canada, in an interview with the National News Agency on Thursday.
"Patriarch Rahi is also keen on the Diaspora's efforts to defend Lebanon, as well as on showing a civilized image of Lebanon and keeping expats away from bitter conflicts," said Khoury, also member of Canada's House of Commons.
Khoury had met with Rahi during his Lebanon visit last month.
The Maronite prelate is scheduled to head to Canada in September on a pastoral tour.
