Saudi Arabia participates in International Labor Conference

Riyadh, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for the Labor Sector Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abu Nassin, headed the Kingdom’s delegation to the 109th session of ILO’s International Labor Conference, which opened its session today, and will last until June 19.

During the virtual opening meeting, participants discussed a number of topics on its agenda, including the Director General’s report for this year entitled the impact of (COVID-19) crisis on the world’s labor sector, in addition to discussing the social protection efforts which come within the framework of ILO’s follow-up to its Declaration on Social Justice for fair globalization.

The organization’s programs and budget, in addition to reviewing the reports of the Legal Experts Committee on international labor conventions and recommendations, are on top of the agenda that will be addressed during the regular sessions of the conference, in addition to the election of members of ILO Board of Directors for the period 2021-2024.
