The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has participated in the World Health Organization (WHO) advisory meeting held in Riyadh, attended by representatives from member states and several experts in the field of complementary and alternative medicine.
The discussion focused on the WHO’s 10-year strategy for complementary and alternative medicine (2025-2034).
The meeting addressed technical opinions and proposals submitted by member states. A representative from the SFDA presented suggestions related to the strategy, particularly concerning legislation and regulation of herbal products.
Moreover, the meeting agenda items were discussed, which included various proposals submitted by representatives of member states in preparation for their approval at the upcoming meeting scheduled for 2025.
