Syria’s athletes at the end of their preparations…. Twenty days to opening Tokyo Olympics

Damascus, Twenty days remain for opening of the most significant world sports event represented by Olympic Games which will be officially launched on July 23th and will last till August 8th with participation of 11000 athletes from various countries.

Syria’s ambition at the Olympic Games comes as other participating world states in achieving good results; rising the podium in the biggest world forum and achieving medals.

In a statement to SANA, Member of the Executive Bureau at the mission participating in the Olympics, Mohammed Hayek, said that the competition to achieve medals will not be easy but the qualification to a major sports cycle like Olympics is considered as an achievement itself and an ambition for every athlete, expressing his happiness for the participation of one girl athlete and five men ones at this significant international event.

Syria is participating in Tokyo Olympics with six athletes who are Hind Dhadha at Ping Pong competition, Majd al-Din Ghazal at High Jump competition, equestrian Ahmad Hamsho, weightlifter Ma’an Asaad, whereas the two athletes, swimmer Ayman Kazliya in 200m Butterfly race and Mohammad Masso at Triathlon competition, are participating according to selecting them from the International Unions for the two games.
