Syrian students in Russia: Presidential elections’ entitlement is national right

Moscow, Syrian students and Members of the Syrian community in Russia renewed on Thursday their determination to participate in the upcoming presidential elections.

The students stressed in a meeting in the Syrian chancery in Moscow that the election day is a constitutional entitlement in which they will participate by using their right under the rules of the Constitution for the sake of Syria’s future, progress and prosperity after it has triumphed over international terrorism and its sponsors.

They pointed out that Presidential elections’ entitlement constitutes a national right, expressing their solidarity with their families in the homeland, Syria.

“Holding the constitutional elections and participating in it is a sincere expression of belonging to the homeland and foiling the enemy’s plots that target Syria, its people and its institutions,” Syrian Ambassador to Russia, Riad Haddad, said in a speech during the meeting.

Ambassador Haddad called for national solidarity at this stage and participation in the presidential election.

World Benchmark Brent Slumped

London, The price of the world market benchmark Brent crude, decreased by 1.96 percent or $1.36, to end trading at $67.96 a barrel, in the futures dealings.

The US intermediate West Texas crude also ended the trading losing 2.10 percent or $1.39, to end trading at $64.69 a barrel.

Berdnikov: US practices of plunder in Syria are a colonial tradition

Moscow, Chairman of the Commission on National and Cultural Heritage Development of the Council for Nationalities Affaires affiliated to Moscow City , Alexander Berdnikov slammed the practices of plunder by the US in Syria, noting that these practices are a colonial tradition practiced by Washington in the whole world and is currently followed in the Middle East.

In an interview with SANA correspondent in Moscow on Thursday, Berdnikov said US sees the Middle East as a region for its interests, including plundering Syria’s natural resources.

Berdnikov stressed that the practices of the Turkish regime in Syria are a violation of all international charters and an illegal interference in its domestic affairs, indicating that the Turkish ambitions in the Russian territory also that require the Russian people ‘s condemnation of these ambitions.

He pointed out that the Russian social organizations support and stand by the Russian President Vladimir Putin ‘s approach in defending Syria’s sovereignty and independence, including its right to hold presidential elections, as stated in its Constitution.

Grospic condemns Turkish regime criminal practices in Syria

Prague, Head of the Czech Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Syria, Dr. Stanislav Grospic, has condemned the criminal practices of the Turkish regime in Syria which include impeding the access to water supplies, pointing out that they cause “humanitarian and environmental tragedies’’ in it.

” We witnesses the great shame inflicted on the Czech Republic through its membership in NATO alongside Turkey, as well as the shame that comes from the silence of the ruling circles and their journalists towards the human tragedy caused by the Turkish regime in Syria,” Grospic said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Prague.

“The Turkish regime has failed with its terrorists to achieve its aggressive ambitions in Syria on the battlefield and therefore it is trying to sabotage its infrastructure,” Grosbic added, stressing that these practices are condemned as is the “policy of submission” of the EU and US towards Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s regime.

Putin and Guterres worried over tightening unilateral Western sanctions on Syria

Moscow Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed on Thursday worry over tightening unilateral Western sanctions on Syria, affirming the need to move forward in supporting the political process to solve the crisis in the country.

The Kremlin said in a statement that the talks via video, between Putin and Guterres, who visits Moscow, tackled the humanitarian situation in Syria with expressing concern about tightening unilateral punitive measures against it.

The statement added that the two sides agreed to activate coordination between Moscow and the UN institutions in many domains, including the return of refugees and displaced Syrians to their home and rebuilding infrastructure.
