Huawei Launches Lossless Ethernet Storage Network Solution NoF+ to Spark Digital Finance Innovation

SHANGHAI, June 4, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — At the Huawei Intelligent Finance Summit 2021, Huawei launched the lossless Ethernet storage networking solution, NoF+. The solution implements end-to-end data acceleration in storage scenarios by leveraging OceanStor Dorado all-flash storage systems and CloudEngine data center storage network switches. It fully unlocks the potential of all-flash performance, and injects new momentum into fintech innovation.

As a frontrunner in digital transformation, the financial industry is moving toward omni-channel coverage. Finance Everywhere has become the catalyst for explosive data growth and data infrastructure innovation, and the all-flash trend is now unstoppable. Since 2018, the global shipment of all-flash (SSDs) has far exceeded that of traditional mechanical disks (HDDs), delivering a 100x increase in read and write performance. In addition, Fibre Channel (FC) storage networks fail to match the requirements for concurrent high-throughput read/write mode of all-flash storage using NVMe interfaces. Both bandwidth and latency have become storage performance bottlenecks. As such, storage services call for a faster and higher-quality network.

As Ethernet technologies have evolved, lossless Ethernet has solved the problem of storage performance fluctuation caused by packet loss. More importantly, the performance of 25/40/100G Ethernet is much higher than that of 32G FC, making lossless Ethernet an important area of development in the all-flash era. Now, vendors and customers are proactively pushing the maturity of the lossless Ethernet-based NVMe over Fabrics (NoF) network ecosystem to the next level.

Huawei’s launch of the next-generation lossless Ethernet storage network solution NoF+ sits in line with the all-flash and all-IP trends of data center storage. Based on the intelligent lossless, perception, and collaboration features, the solution overcomes the packet loss challenges of traditional Ethernet and achieves high performance, high reliability, and easy O&M.

Intelligent algorithms for 87% higher IOPS: Packet loss occurs on traditional Ethernet networks, where a packet loss of 0.1% decreases the network throughput by 50%. The Huawei NoF+ Solution includes an iLossless algorithm to achieve zero packet loss with 100% storage network throughput. Compared to FC, the IOPS improves by 87% and the latency reduces by 42%. In intra-city active-active scenarios, the solution uses 100GE links for 70 km lossless transmission, reducing cross-DC links by 90% compared to FC links.
Proactive fault detection and failover within one second: Traditional Ethernet networks lack proactive fault detection and notification mechanisms. When a fault occurs, link failover takes a long time, thus interrupting storage services. The NoF+ Solution provides intelligent perception capabilities, meaning that switches can proactively report faults within milliseconds and work with storage devices to implement failover within one second, without affecting storage services when a single point of network failure occurs.
Plug-and-play and one-click capacity expansion of storage: In storage scenarios, traditional Ethernet networks need to be manually configured node by node, which is a complex and error-prone process. The NoF+ Solution implements intelligent collaboration between storage devices and switches and supports plug-and-play and one-click capacity expansion of storage devices. Service changes can be automatically synchronized to the entire network after being configured at a single point, greatly improving the service provisioning efficiency.

وأكد نى قوانغ نان، وهو أكاديمى بالأكاديمية الصينية للهندسة أهمية البقاء فى صدارة المنافسة المفتوحة المصدر فى خطاب رئيسى بمدينة شنتشن في مقاطعة قوانغدونغ جنوبي الصين، وفقا لما أورده تقرير نشره(cs.com.cn)، وهو موقع تديره صحيفة تشاينا سيكيوريتيز جورنال .

وقال ني قوانغ نان إن البرمجيات المفتوحة المصدر تستخدم على نطاق أوسع في الذكاء الاصطناعي والبيانات الضخمة والحوسبة السحابية وغيرها من التقنيات الرئيسية، وهي تحل تدريجيا محل البرمجيات التقليدية المسجلة الملكية. ونمت في السنوات الأخيرة شعبية تصميم الأجهزة الحاسوبية المفتوحة المصدر وبنائها وتكييفها حسب الطلب.

‫شركة Friends Provident International: 57٪ من القوى العاملة الإماراتية لن تعيش ماليًا لمدة ثلاثة أشهر في حالة الإصابة بمرض خطير

نتائج استطلاع رأي البقاء المالي الذي تم إجراؤه من قِبَل شركة Friends Provident International (FPIL), المُزوِّد العالمي للحماية والادخار وحلول الاستثمار التي تعمل في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وجزيرة مان وعبر آسيا، تكشف أن 57٪ من القوى العاملة الإماراتية غير مهيأة بما يكفي للعيش لمدة ثلاثة أشهر في حالة الإصابة بمرض خطير يتطلب عليهم ترك وظائفهم. وبشكل مذهل، أفاد أكثر من ربع الذين شاركوا في الاستطلاع أنهم لن يعيشوا حتى لمدة شهر.

استطلاع الرأي الذي تلقى ردودًا من أكثر من 1000 موظف في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة من مختلف فئات الجنس والعمر والدخل والجنسية والإمارة والحالة الاجتماعية، “إنه يُسلِّط الضوء على متوسط عدم استعداد الموظفين الإماراتيين للأمراض الخطيرة – لا سيما التأثير الذي يمكن أن يسببه المرض المُنهِك على المكاسب والبقاء المالي”، كما يقول ستيوارت شيلكوك، رئيس المبيعات للشرق الأوسط في Friends Provident International.

لماذا القلق بشأن الأمراض الخطيرة؟

US Delegation Visits KSrelief Center at Zaatari Camp in Jordan

Amman, A delegation from the US Office of Cultural Attaché, at the US embassy here, has paid a visit to the Saudi Center for Community Services and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) clinics, at Zaatari camp for the Syrian refugees in Jordan.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the prominent relief activities being provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Syrian refugees.

The delegation expressed appreciation for the KSrelief provision of services to all refugees, across the world.

Minister Abdullah: Supporting Syria’s just stance by calling for lifting unilateral coercive measures imposed on the country

Damascus, Labor Ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) countries held the 109th Session of the International Labor Conference (ILC) their meeting, with the participation of Syria.

The conference is organized annually by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and this year will be held virtually in Geneva.

Delivering a speech, head of the Syrian delegation, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Salwa al-Abdullah affirmed the importance of taking clear and frank decisions by ILO in condemnation of Israeli occupation of occupied Syrian Golan, Palestine and other occupied Arab territories and flagrant violations committed by the occupation against civilians, employers and workers in Golan.

“We are looking forward to a strong stance supporting Syria in its war against terrorism,” Abdullah said.

She added that the global war which was waged against Syria is a crime that targeted all aspects of life and also the Syrian Human being in all livelihood, causing the loss of thousands of workers from their job opportunities and sources of livelihood.

Abdullah called on the participating ministers and heads of delegations to support Syria’s just stance by calling for lifting unilateral coercive measures imposed on the country.

The first part of the 109th session of ILC started on Thursday and will continue until June 19th.

On May 20th an opening session was held, in which the members of the conference’s bureau were elected and its permanent and technical committees were appointed, and the conference closing session is expected to be held on December 11th.

Saudi Arabia joins the world in celebrating the World Environment Day

Jeddah/Abha, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia joins the world in commemorating World Environment Day, which falls on the 5th of June, emanating from the fact that the Kingdom gives great importance to protecting and preserving the environment and caring for its natural components, which is a consolidation of its efforts and initiatives in caring for the ecosystem and biodiversity on the planet, by shedding light on the environmental issues; conducting lectures and activities that promote the idea of preserving and ensuring a healthy environment.

The Kingdom has taken strategic decisions to preserve the environment, the most important of which was the establishment of the Special Forces for Environmental Security, which comes in line with the Kingdom’s vision 2030 and aims to improve the quality of life and build a society whose members enjoy a healthy lifestyle, and an environment that allows living in a positive and attractive environment, which in turn promoted the environment in coordination with the concerned “security and environmental” authorities with the aim of activating and enforcing environmental regulations, and carrying out comprehensive tasks and responsibilities covering all environmentally important areas throughout the Kingdom.

The environment sector in the Kingdom is enjoying special attention, continuous support, and care from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Crown Prince as a religious, national, and humanitarian duty and responsibility towards the future generations. World Environment Day comes as a global occasion to review efforts and assess all exerted actions to preserve the environment. It is also an opportunity to review the roles and goals that have been achieved to reach a status that reflects the Kingdom’s position at the international arena, in light of the global concern that environmental issues are witnessing as one of the most important components of improving the quality of life and indicators of sustainable development.

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has been successful in shouldering efforts to reach the level of environmental awareness in the society and transmitting awareness messages that urge attention to the environment, amid the Kingdom’s successful experiences at the local, continental and global levels to preserve the environment, in a way that improves the quality of life and indicators of sustainable development in line with the Kingdom’s vision 2030.

Moreover, the Ministry has taken a number of strategic decisions to preserve the environment and build a society whose members enjoy a healthy lifestyle and an environment that allows for living in a positive and attractive atmosphere, under the supervision and directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince.

Hence comes the founding of the Saudi Society for Environmental Sciences at King Abdulaziz University which was a true translation of the leadership’s interest in environmental affairs and its protection through universities and professional institutions. This establishment of the society enabled the university to secure an advanced position internationally through holding scientific meetings, training courses, workshops, expeditions trips, educational seminars, and environmental awareness, in order to elevate science environmental development, scientific ideology in environmental fields, spread environmental awareness, and providing scientific, theoretical and applied advice in the field of environmental sciences for many areas of development in the Kingdom.

The Society seeks to benefit the community through the outcomes of scientific research to enrich culture and awareness in the field of environment and to spread scientific environmental awareness to preserve the environment and prevent or reduce its losses by organizing activities in international environmental events, awareness exhibitions, and student activities, attracting talents and adopting creative ideas, in a way that advances the aspirations of the Kingdom and its interest in environmental affairs.

Vershinin? Pedersen discuss the situation in Syria

Moscow, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister? Sergey Vershinin? discussed in a phone call with the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, the situation in Syria and ways to find a political solution to the crisis in the country.

“During the phone call, a detailed discussion on the current situation in Syria was made , with emphasis on the task of intensifying humanitarian aid and pushing the political settlement process on the basis of respecting the country’s sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity, as stipulated in UN Security Council Resolution No. 2254.”, Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

A Saudi Rowing Team member Qualifies for Tokyo Olympiad 2020

Riyadh, A Saudi rowing team member qualified for Tokyo Olympiad 2020.

Hussein Ridha, the Saudi national will represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the competition of the open weight in addition to his teammate Sultan Al-Shali, as a substitute in the Olympics to be hosted in Tokyo from next July 21 to August 7.

This is the first time for a Saudi rowing team member to qualify for an Olympiad.

Syrian National Football Team beats Maldivian counterpart 4-0

Sharjah, Syrian National Football Team beat its Maldivian counterpart 4-0 in the match held on Sharjah Football Stadium within the joint qualifiers of 2022 FIFA World Cup of Qatar and 2023 AFC Asian Cup in China.

Three goals were scored by Mahmoud al-Mawas, and one was scored by Ayyaz Othman.

With this result, the Syrian team guaranteed its qualification to 2023 AFC Asian Cup and the decisive round of 2022 FIFA World Cup.
