Ambassador Khaddour: Coercive measures impede efforts of Syrian government to promote development, industrial sector

Vienna, Syria’s permanent representative to the UN and other international organizations in Vienna, Ambassador Hassan Khaddour, affirmed that the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria have undermined its ability to promote the development and industrial sector.

Khaddour, in a statement to the 49th session of the Industrial Development Council in Vienna, pointed out to the catastrophic impacts left by the conditions of the terrorist war on all sectors in Syria, particularly the industrial one, pointing out that the industrial areas were repeatedly targeted by armed terrorist organizations that stole factories and destroyed some of them.

At the same time, Khaddour stressed that the Syrian government has subsequently issued necessary legislations that meet the needs of society in line with the requirements of sustainable development, and it exerted efforts to address the negative consequences of these situations and make them in their minimum.

He expressed the Syrian government’s aspiration to establish fair global partnerships based on respect for the principles of international law and the provisions of UN charter, in order to support the efforts of the institutions of the Syrian state to overcome all the challenges imposed by the years of the terrorist war and the new obstacles left by the Corona pandemic and to achieve sustainable development goals far from politicization.

MoH Says 1,295 New Confirmed COVID-19 Cases, 946 Recoveries Reported in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, The Ministry of Health announced, in a statement here today, that 1,295 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, bringing the total number to 503,734, including 10,845 active cases.

Of these, there are 1,426 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable.

The statement added that 14 new deaths have been reported, putting the tally of fatalities, at 8,006.

Meanwhile, as many as 946 cases have recovered, raising recoveries’ toll to 484,883.

Dammam, Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Eastern Region, received here today the Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Bilal Akbar.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.

Grospic: Turkification policy of Turkish occupation in some Syrian areas rejected

Prague, Vice -chairman of the Czech Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia Stanislav Grospic affirmed that Turkification policy practiced by the Turkish occupation in some Syrian areas is rejected and deserves international condemnation.

In an article published in the Czech Halo Noviny Newspaper on Tuesday, Grospic stressed that Turkish occupation troops are present illegitimately in the Syrian territory and thus they are occupation forces, indicating that policies of the head of this regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, are based on supporting terrorism, expansion, and occupation of others’ lands, theft of wealth , which cannot be accepted.”

Grospic pointed out to the efforts exerted by Syria in order to liberate its territory from terrorism, and Turkish and US occupation.

Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Launches Hajj Smart Card to Enhance Technical Services for Pilgrims

Makkah, The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has launched Hajj smart card to enhance the digital services and facilitate the journey of pilgrims while performing the rituals of Hajj. This step comes to link all services to one integrated e-platform.

The Hajj smart Card “Shaaer” includes near field communication technology (NFC), which allows pilgrims to scan their cards through self-service devices that will be available at the holy sites. The Hajj smart card offers many services including the pilgrim’s personal, medical and residential information. It will also contribute to guiding pilgrims to their residence at holy sites and controlling entry to the various facilities. This is in addition to its role in reducing illegal Hajj.

Launching the Hajj smart card emanates from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s keenness to develop and diversify the services provided to pilgrims. It also comes as an extension of the efforts of the ministry’s in adopting and harnessing modern technologies and artificial intelligence to serve pilgrims.

Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah for Hajj and Umrah Services Dr. Amr Al-Maddah said that Saudi Arabia has always exerted all efforts to serve pilgrims during Hajj seasons; therefore, the Hajj smart Card has been launched to complete the Hajj’s technical system, which comes as part of continuous planning and improvements to provide the best services during Hajj season.

Dr. Amr Al-Maddah added that pilgrims, through the card’s application, can identify the gathering points and departure times to and from their residence at the holy sites. Pilgrims will also be able to choose the daily meals. This is in addition to receiving notifications from the control center. He noted that pilgrims can evaluate the provided services through the questionnaire on the application in order to improve the ministry’s technical services and digital solutions.

He concluded that each card has one colour-coding of the following four colors; green, red, yellow and blue. The coding connects cardholders to their residence at the holy sites.

Syria participates in virtual UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development

Damascus, Syria participated in a virtual conference via internet held by UNESCO on world education /2021/ for sustainable development.

Education Minister , Head of the Syrian National Committee for UNESCO , Darem Tabaa, stressed that the Syrian government, presented by Education Ministry, worked during the years of war on Syria to preserve the education system and avoid its collapse in addition to supporting it with all possible means to keep the generations’ future.

Tabaa pointed out that the Ministry worked during the spread of Corona outbreak on the appropriate planning for all measures that ensure the safety of students and teachers alike, and keeping the educational process through activating the role of the Health School Directorate and developing a comprehensive health protocol based on scientific research.

The Minister stressed that ,through the continuous follow up, the infections among school students remained within the minimum limits, as the total infections number in schools reached only 2795 ones ,of which 1030 among students and 1765 among teachers.
