KSrelief Organizes Training Course for Laboratory Technicians in Aden on Combating Malaria

Aden, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has organized a three-day course on microscopic diagnosis of malaria for laboratory technicians in Aden Governorate, in cooperation with National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) of the Ministry of Health. Population of the Republic of Yemen, and the World Health Organization (WHO).

The course targets 21 laboratory technician trainees from different Yemeni governorates, during which theoretical and practical information was given in the quality of malaria diagnosis, in addition to qualifying the course beneficiaries to become trainers for laboratory technicians in their governorates.

NMCP’s Director Dr. Yasser Abdullah explained that this course comes within the framework of unremitting support being provided by KSrelief to combat malaria in Yemen, especially KSrelief in the midst of disease wide-spreading and climate changes.

It is noteworthy that the KSrelief has recently distributed 21 diagnostic medical devices over health centers in a number of Yemeni governorates.

This falls within the framework of the humanitarian and relief projects being provided by KSrelief, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s relief arm, for the Yemeni people in various fields.

Misk Charity Foundation Launches Misk Launchpad Program

Riyadh, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz MISK charity foundation announced the launch of Misk Launchpad program, which comes in partnership with the business development platform Riseup to support young Saudi male and female entrepreneurs at the beginning of their entrepreneurial journey, as part of its programs to develop entrepreneurship and support youth projects.

The three – month program aims to to support the youths’ creative ideas in order to achieve more investments and growth in the market.

Project manager Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Nuwaiser said the program comes as part of an intensive training and a series of workshops, along with supporting services in product development and brand launch.

King Faisal Medal Awarded to Two Officers from Border Guard

ZATCA Inaugurates New Identity

Riyadh, The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) launched at its headquarters here today its new identity to reflect the big role the authority is playing in protecting the security and assets of the homeland, in the development and prosperity of the national economy under the solidarity of the society, represented by individuals and the public and private sectors.

The new identity is in line with the Authority’s continuous endeavors to build an effective institution with high efficiency that contributes to developing the economy, enhancing the application of customs monitoring over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s imports and exports and facilitating border trade.

Through its vision, the Authority seeks to become an international model in administrating Zakat, taxes and customs via realizing its strategic goals that focus on enhancing the security side, increasing the abidance and commitment rate, supporting economic development and facilitating trade movement.

It is worth mentioning that inaugurating the new identity of the Authority comes in implementation of the Cabinet’s decision issued in May, merging the General Authority for Zakat and Tax with the General Customs Authority under the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, with the aim of unifying the efforts of both sectors under one umbrella, which will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of performance and expenditure.

GACA Issues Circular to Airlines regarding Procedures for Verifying Immunization Status of Residents before Boarding Aircraft to the Kingdom

Riyadh, The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has issued a circular to all airlines operating in the Kingdom’s airports, including private aviation, regarding procedures for verifying the immunization status of residents before boarding departing planes to the Kingdom.

The circular stipulated the need to show the immunization status of travelers through the health status of the “Tawakkalna” application, or by submitting a report proving immunization in the Kingdom via the “Quddum” platform.

The GACA stressed commitment to the circulars, stressing that whoever violates government orders, legal measures will be taken against them and will bear the resulting responsibility.

A historic 10-year partnership between the Saudi International Golf Championship and the Asian Tour Concluded

Riyadh, The 2022 edition of the Saudi International Golf Championship, presented by SoftBank Investment Consulting, has enhanced its international competitiveness by concluding a historic partnership with the Asian Golf Tour that will continue for the next ten years, during which the championship will see an increase in its total prize to $5 million.

The partnership with the Asian Golf Tour represents a renewed strategy, aiming at taking the event to different regions around the world.

The tournament, which will be held at the Royal Greens Golf Course in King Abdullah Economic City from February 3 to 6, 2022, is expected to be broadcast live on several TV channels around the world.

The participation of some of the most famous international names in the 2021 edition of the Saudi International Golf Championship contributed to the tournament becoming one of the most important events that give players points for ranking following major tournaments and other professional tournaments.

World number one Nelly Korda joins the Saudi “Aramco Team Series” in New York

New York, Nelly Korda, the World number 1 golfer and Olympic gold medalist, together with her sister Jessica, have joined the list of top female golfers for the 3rd Saudi Aramco Team Series tournament in New York.

The tournament, one of the European Tour tournaments, with prizes amounting to $1 million, will be held from October 14-16 at the “Glen Oaks” course, with a group of female golf professionals competing, including five of the top 20 players in the world.

The organizing committee had previously confirmed the participation of American Solheim Cup stars Lizette Salas and Lexi Thompson, in addition to the European team player and AIG Women’s British Open champion “Anna Nordqvist”.

Korda said she is thrilled to have the event in her schedule.

For his part, Majed Al-Sorour, CEO of the Saudi Golf Federation, explained that the list of names participating in New York will be the strongest, citing the participation of a group of the elite who recently participated in the Solheim Cup. That will be a driving force towards achieving the goal to spread this sport on a global level, and improve women’s sporting opportunities through some of the initiatives that are planned to be implemented in New York, he added.

The Aramco Team Series is a brand-new four-tournament concept introduced on the Ladies European Tour earlier this year. Taking place across three continents, the tournaments will see the world’s best players team up with amateur golfers to compete for a $1m prize fund. It sees teams of four, that include three pros and one amateur, battle it out for a share of an $800,000 prize fund, with a $200,000 purse for the leading individual scores over the weekend
